Bringing together government, industry and technology leaders, the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) and the University of Manchester (UoM) are leading the way in understanding and exploring quantum technologies and how organisations can prepare and utilise this disruptive technology in their strategic plans.
The UK is at the forefront of a global effort to develop the quantum era. They have launched a National Quantum Technologies Programme (NQTP) to transform their research strength into market opportunities. The NPL Quantum Programme is an integral part of the NQTP, and provides independent testing, evaluation, standards, and measurement services to UK-based industries working on quantum technologies.
“Quantum algorithms can be used to optimise different aspects of manufacturing operations, including supply chain configurations, vehicle routing, factory flows and product developments," said Anne Campion, the Head of Manufacturing at GM Business Growth Hub. "By tapping into the computational power of quantum computers, manufacturers can achieve significant cost reductions, improved efficiency and streamlined processes.”
A networking lunch followed by talks and discussions organised by NPL and UoM will take place on 28th February at the Oddfellows Hall of the University of Manchester. Leading speakers from government, industry, and technology will join and present at the event, providing insights on the latest developments and trends.
